HRM Travel Softball is led by longtime coaching duo Jennifer Patrick-Swift and Patrick Swift, who bring over two decades of championship-level experience
and a shared passion for player development.
Jennifer is the creator of The Home Run Mindset and a former NCAA Division I head coach at both NC State and Saint Francis University, where she built nationally ranked offenses and led her teams to conference titles and NCAA tournament appearances. Patrick began his career in college baseball but made the transition to softball in 2012 — transitioning to softball so he and Jennifer could coach side by side while raising their young family. He joined Jennifer’s staff at both Saint Francis and NC State, where together they built successful programs rooted in culture, consistency, and development. Throughout that time, Patrick became known for being ahead of the curve in areas like technology integration, recruiting strategy, and team defense — bringing a modern, detail-oriented edge to everything he touched.
While collegiate coaching was their profession, Jennifer and Patrick made a purposeful choice not to push softball on their three daughters, despite being surrounded by the game. But after years of watching the strong, confident young women their parents coached, all three girls asked to learn the game for themselves — inspired by the role models they saw wearing the same uniforms.
As their daughters continued to grow in the sport, the Swifts embraced what they believe was a purposeful shift God placed in their lives: the call to pause coaching other people’s children, as they had for so many years, and instead focus on coaching their own. That calling gave birth to HRM Travel Softball — a program rooted in faith, family, and the transformational power of mindset. They are
grateful to still be giving back to the sport they love while helping grow the next generation of athletes with the same intention, joy, and belief that guided their college teams for over a decade.
As parents of four athletes — ages 20, 19, 18, and 11 — we've lived and breathed youth sports. Our journey began in San Diego, California, where we coached
our older children throughLittle League, All-Stars, and into district and regional championship victories. Eventually, we launched our own travel ball club,
winning several travel tournaments and building lifelong memories along the way.
When our youngest was born, we thought our coaching days were behind us.
But following in her siblings' footsteps, she picked up a glove and joined the
game. By then, we had moved to North Carolina and started her off in recreational ball. We quickly noticed the need for a more focused environment to develop her skills — and just like that, it felt like a second coming. Soon after, we met the Swift family. A friendship quickly blossomed into a shared vision, and together, we agreed to be a part of a new softball family, Home Run Mindset, HRM Travel Softball.
We've been coaching since our oldest was in T-ball, baseball, softball, and even football — and we’ve loved every season of it.
Coaching as a couple, alongside the Swifts, brings a unique dynamic to our team. We combine years of experience with unwavering passion. We believe in creating a positive, disciplined, and supportive environment where players can grow not just as athletes, but as people. We teach fundamentals, foster confidence, build character, and encourage teamwork — all while keeping the game fun and competitive.
We're proud to help each player become the best version of themselves —
on and off the field.
